If you are still with me, it's probably a miracle! I know I have been missing for a very long time and I'm sorry about that. I have no excuses except to say that I have been lazy/ill for a couple of months. I guess the ill part is here to stay, it's my new normal so I will deal with it and kick myself in the rump, and get posting.

Finally a few cards to share! Holly came over and we had several days of card making and it was lots of fun. No Christmas cards on this post but I will have some in the future. Today I went out to her house and we made fabric postcards, OMGOsh these are so darn cute and a lot of fun to make. I will post those a little later on too. In the meantime, enjoy!

This is one of my recent cross stitch projects. I used 28 count sand evenweave and valdani pearl cotton, one thread over two. It turned out really pretty with that varigated floss. Got it framed and now it's going to be on it's way to a friends house for her birthday. Hope she likes it. The Schoolgirl Lessons pattern is one of Little House Needleworks . I have a wish list for this company that is very long! I found the frame at Hobby Lobby when I was in Salt Lake City with a friend recently. We both had appointments so we made the trip together. Talk about fun! We drove to Ogden and checked out Shepherds Bush on this same trip and WOW what a great stitchery store. They have samples made and displayed on every free inch of wall/shelf/furniture space that they have. If you like cross stitch, it's like die-ing and going to heaven! We also checked out other craft stores. We spent three days there and had a ton of fun, can't wait to do it again!!
I completed the stitching on the Little House Needlework design. I'm not sure what I will finish it as. Any suggestions? I don't use floss rings, I keep all of my floss rolled on cards. Maybe a magnet? I worked it on 28 count sand evenweave. Love the LHN designs!
I made my husband a different sort of Valentine card this year. I put a little cross stitch on it too! This pattern is a freebie from the Stitcherhood . I used a variegated Valdanie thread in red on it. Lots of fun and he liked it!
I got one of my Bent Creek cross stitch projects finished and now I'm finally sharing it. This is done on ordinary 16 count aida fabric and was fun to make. It had some specialty stitches on it that I had not done before and so it was a little learning too! Some of the specialty stitches didn't work as well as they would have on linen.....
This little sheep project was so much fun! I used a piece of wool to stitch on, it was sort of a dirty white in color and was perfect for the picture. It was stitched with six strands of DMC embroidery floss. Now all I need to do is frame the little cutie!
For the past several months I've been spending alot more time with hand sewing. I love to sit and stitch at night while we watch tv. Some of my projects are counted cross stitch, some are wool felt, some are embroidery, it just depends on my mood or current project. This year I hope to get a head start and make some of my Christmas (if not all) gifts before the end of the year. Can you imagine having it all done in say October? That would really "ring my bell" so to speak.
About a week ago I had been working on a new candle mat. It's so darn cute that I wanted to share it here. It is a pattern by Bareroots . I gave my dear friend Nancy one for Christmas and I sure wish that I would've had more on hand to give. I made my daughter one that was Santa in a sleigh and reindeer and I made one for Holly that had the Manger on it. Really fun to make, a quick gift and something that most of the ladies like! I do use wool felt to make these, if you are going to make a gift by hand then you should make sure and do the best job you can and it all begins with the right supplies. I've been MIA from my blog for so long I almost forgot how to post! Since it's time to ring in a new year I thought it appropriate to get a post going. It seems like every year I get behind in my Christmas card making and then the rush is here to do the shopping and baking and all that jazz. So I am vowing to make 5 Christmas cards every month of the new year and then when Christmas rolls around again I should be set to go and not have to worry about it or buy a box of cards. It's shameful to buy cards when I have hundreds of stamps and lots of card stock.
My DH gave me a kitten for Christmas. She is so gentle and loving. The dogs aren't sure what to make of her yet but I have faith that they will all be buddies in the near future. I named her Miss Kitty, after the Kitty on Gunsmoke. I know that's not very creative but it seems to suit her. She loves to play with my oxygen tubing. I get up from one room to the next and she leaps on the tubing and curls into a ball biting it. Hope she doesn't actually make a hole. When they are that tiny and cute it's hard to discipline them!
Isn't she adorable? She is 12 weeks old now. She doesn't shed that much either, which surprised me because she has long hair.
So on to the New Year. My wish for everyone is to have a happy, healthy, and peaceful New Year!
